A Pioneering Legacy in Oncology Education
Founded in 1954 by the Women's Indian Association under the visionary leadership of Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy, Cancer Institute (WIA) is one of India's first dedicated cancer centres and a recognised leader in oncology training. Our academic programmes span the full spectrum of cancer care — from broad speciality postgraduate degrees and super speciality DM/MCh courses to focused fellowships and allied health sciences programmes.
With affiliations to The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University and the National Board of Examinations, our courses are recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and NBEMS. Over 500 graduates trained at CI (WIA) now serve at leading cancer centres across India and the world.
