Message from the Head of Department

Mrs. V. Varalakshmi

Head of Department
At the Cancer Institute (WIA), we understand that every patient who walks through our doors brings not just a medical need, but hope, courage, and trust. Quality, for us, means honouring that trust through safe, compassionate, and respectful care at every step of the patient journey. For us Quality is both a responsibility we lead and a promise we make to every patient and family who entrust us with their care. We recognize that behind every process and protocol is a human life, and our vision is to ensure that safety, compassion, and dignity are consistently reflected in every patient experience. The Quality Department strives in building a culture of continuous improvement, working closely with clinical and support teams to strengthen systems, standardize best practices, and enhance patient safety. Through data-driven monitoring, learning from outcomes, and listening to patient voices, we continuously work towards improvement. Our promise is unwavering—to stand beside our patients and families with care that is not only clinically excellent, but also humane and heartfelt.
