Dr. A. Karthik Chandra

Dr. A. Karthik Chandra is a dedicated surgical oncologist specializing in cancers of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas, and biliary system. He is currently working as an Assistant Professor and Consultant in Robotic and Laparoscopic Surgical Oncology at the Cancer Institute (WIA), Adyar, Chennai, where he is actively involved in both clinical care and academic activities.

He completed his MBBS from Sri Venkateswara Medical College, Tirupati, followed by DNB in General Surgery from Yashoda Hospitals. He further pursued super-specialty training with a DrNB in Surgical Oncology from Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute. In addition, he holds a fellowship with the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons (IAGES), reflecting his advanced training in minimally invasive techniques.

Throughout his career, Dr. Karthik has maintained a strong academic and clinical dedication. He has been recognized for his research and presentations, receiving awards at prominent national conferences such as IASO and ISO.

In clinical practice, he has developed significant expertise in performing complex cancer surgeries, including procedures involving the pancreas, liver, and advanced gastrointestinal malignancies. He is particularly skilled in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgeries and has handled a large number of upper and lower gastrointestinal cases. He has also contributed to the development and expansion of specialized surgical oncology services within institutional settings.

His approach combines evidence-based surgical practice with innovation and continuous academic engagement, aiming to improve outcomes in cancer care.
